There is no doubt that we’re making our way through a challenging year for our country, our industry, our communities, and our employees. But it’s not all bad news anymore and we see tangible signs that America is beginning to grow again. We operate in eight states and overseas, and the upticks are widespread.
The stimulus efforts have moved many projects forward and have helped fund renovations, expansions, and upgrades in schools and in local infrastructures including roads, highways, bridges, airports, prisons, and water/wastewater facilities.
Our sales have exceeded our goals for the year while our revenue and profit exceed the expectations for this year and are significantly ahead of last year.
We’re a design firm, so new projects begin in our offices and lead to the hiring of contractors, the purchase of construction materials, and the employment of construction workers. The improvements we design enhance the health and safety of our citizens, increase efficiencies in our transportation systems, improve the effectiveness of our water and wastewater systems, and advance the energy efficiency of the facilities where we live, learn, work, shop and play. Increased activity for design firms leads to more construction, more employment and an improving economic climate in the months and years to come.
There are big challenges ahead, but America has repeatedly been able to deal with adversity and has always converted downturns into growth.
